Sweet Willie is also a very capable classical trumpet soloist as well. This is from his recording entitled, “The Instrument Of Peace” where he performs music from the Star Wars movie franchise.
This composition is called “Across The Stars”. Sweet Willie interepts these classic John Williams Star Wars tunes with the elegance of an exceptional principal trumpet player with a major symphony orchestra.
In this performance, Sweet Willie ‘channels’ the classical trumpet playing skills of the late Adolph ‘Bud’ Herseth.
This composition is called “Across The Stars”. Sweet Willie interepts these classic John Williams Star Wars tunes with the elegance of an exceptional principal trumpet player with a major symphony orchestra.
In this performance, Sweet Willie ‘channels’ the classical trumpet playing skills of the late Adolph ‘Bud’ Herseth. From 1948-2004, Mr. Herseth was the legendary principal trumpet player with Chicago Symphony for 56 years.
This recording was made at the request of Sweet Willie’s wife Carol’s young nephews, Wil and Trent who were big Star War Fans back in 2012. This recording was made to honor the wishes of both Wil and Trent.
