Professor Longhair (RIP 1980)– Piano and vocals – Professor Longhair was inducted into the Blues Hall of Fame in 1981.  In 1987, he was awarded a posthumous Grammy Award. He was also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992.  Sweet Willie played trumpet on several of Longhair’s recordings that were cut in the 1970’s.  See compilation recording, released in 1991 entitled, “Professor Longhair – Mardi Gras in Baton Rouge.”
